The VIPER26 is a high-voltage offline switch integrating an 800V avalanche-rugged power MOSFET with PWM current-mode controller for flyback converter designs. It features embedded HV startup, sense-FET, error amplifier, and jittered switching frequency (60kHz or 115kHz) to minimize EMI filtering. Ideal for low-power auxiliary supplies, LED drivers, and SMPS applications with typical standby consumption under 30mW at 230VAC.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pin pitch on this 16-pin package makes hand-soldering impractical and breadboard mounting impossible. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 2.54mm spacing, enabling quick prototyping of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers, ADCs, and line drivers without requiring surface-mount soldering skills or PCB fabrication.
