Single-cell Li-Ion battery monitor IC with integrated Coulomb counter and gas gauge functionality. Measures battery voltage, temperature, and current (up to 2.5A with 30mΩ sense resistor) via 12/14-bit ADC. Communicates via I2C interface with 32 bytes RAM and includes programmable accumulators for capacity tracking up to ±7000mAh resolution. Typical applications include cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, and portable consumer electronics.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 0.65mm pitch and tiny 3×3mm form factor make hand soldering challenging and impractical for breadboard prototyping. A breakout board converts this compact SMD package into a standard header layout, enabling reliable connections and rapid iteration without specialized soldering equipment or rework risk.
