Octal bus transceiver IC for bidirectional data communication between two 8-bit buses. Features direction control (DIR) to select transmission from A to B or B to A, and output enable (OE) for bus isolation. Operates at 4.5-5.5V with TTL-compatible inputs, 14ns typical propagation delay, and ±6mA output drive capability.

Why does this need a breakout?
Hand-soldering 0.65mm pitch leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board with standard 0.1" headers lets you prototype I/O expanders and logic gates on breadboards without a reflow oven. The compact SSOP package also becomes DIP-friendly, eliminating jumper spaghetti and reducing assembly mistakes during development cycles.
