High-speed 3-to-8 line decoder/demultiplexer in 16-SO package, designed for memory address decoding and data routing applications. Operates at 4.5-5.5V with typical propagation delay of 17ns and ±4mA output drive. Features three enable inputs for cascading and low power consumption of 80µA maximum.

Why does this need a breakout?
SO-16 packages feature 1.27mm pin pitch and surface-mount pads that are difficult to hand-solder reliably and impossible to breadboard. A breakout board breaks out all 16 pins to standard headers, enabling quick prototyping of RS485 drivers, DACs, comparators, and logic gates without soldering tiny leads or designing custom PCBs.
