Provides 25mA output current with low quiescent current of 42µA, suitable for industrial loop-powered transmitters, sensor interfaces, and battery-powered applications. Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-23's tiny 0.95mm pin pitch and compact form factor make hand-soldering tedious and prone to bridging errors. A breakout board breaks out the three pins to standard 0.1" spacing for breadboard prototyping, eliminating the need for specialized soldering equipment and enabling fast circuit iteration with transistors, diodes, and small-signal components.
