Design a Custom BoardThe MAX3232E is a dual RS-232 line driver and receiver IC for converting between logic-level signals and RS-232 serial standards. It features two drivers and two receivers operating from a single 3V to 5.5V supply, with integrated charge pump and ±15kV ESD protection. Supports data rates up to 250kbps and is ideal for industrial PCs, networking equipment, and battery-powered systems.
The 1.27mm pin pitch on this 16-pin package makes hand-soldering impractical and breadboard mounting impossible. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 2.54mm spacing, enabling quick prototyping of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers, ADCs, and line drivers without requiring surface-mount soldering skills or PCB fabrication.
