The LNK364DN-TL is an integrated LinkSwitch-XT offline switcher IC combining a 700V power MOSFET, oscillator, and control circuitry for flyback power supply designs. It delivers 5.5W (adapter) to 9W (open frame) output power across universal input voltage ranges without requiring a bias winding. The device features integrated thermal shutdown, frequency jittering for EMI reduction, and cycle-by-cycle current limiting, making it ideal for low-cost chargers, adapters, and industrial power supplies.

Why does this need a breakout?
An 8-pin SOIC with 1.27mm pitch is too fine for breadboards and hand-soldering without a microscope. A breakout board routes these pins to standard 0.1" headers, enabling rapid prototyping and reliable connections for op-amps, transceivers, and small power MOSFETs without requiring reflow equipment.
