Why does this need a breakout?
SMD-8 packages like TOPSwitch controllers are difficult to hand-solder due to close pin spacing and thermal considerations. A breakout board brings all eight pins to standard 0.1-inch headers for breadboard prototyping and reliable connections, eliminating the need for fine-pitch soldering skills or specialized equipment. Ideal for developing offline power supply and PWM switching circuits.
