Serial EEPROM with 1 Megabit capacity organized as 131,072 x 8-bit words, supporting Standard (100 kHz), Fast (400 kHz), and Fast-Plus (1 MHz) I2C protocols. Features 256-byte page write buffer, hardware write protection, on-chip ECC, and 1,000,000 program/erase cycles with 100-year data retention. Operates from 1.8V to 5.5V and includes Schmitt triggers for noise immunity on I2C bus lines.

Why does this need a breakout?
An 8-pin SOIC with 1.27mm pitch is too fine for breadboards and hand-soldering without a microscope. A breakout board routes these pins to standard 0.1" headers, enabling rapid prototyping and reliable connections for op-amps, transceivers, and small power MOSFETs without requiring reflow equipment.
