ATtiny26 is a low-power 8-bit AVR RISC microcontroller with 2KB in-system programmable flash memory, 128 bytes EEPROM, and 128 bytes SRAM. It features a 10-bit ADC with up to 11 single-ended or 8 differential channels with programmable gain, dual PWM timers, and universal serial interface. Operating from 4.5V to 5.5V at up to 16 MHz, it integrates watchdog timer, brown-out detection, and multiple low-power modes for embedded control applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pin pitch makes hand-soldering this 20-pin SOIC challenging and error-prone. A breakout board brings all pins to standard 0.1" spacing, enabling reliable breadboard prototyping and simplifying development of USB-to-UART interfaces without requiring reflow soldering or specialized equipment.
