It operates from 2.2V to 6.0V input, features 360mV typical dropout at 1A, and includes integrated enable control, current limiting, and thermal shutdown. Suitable for battery-powered devices, audio/video applications, and portable electronics.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-89-5 packages feature tight 1.27 mm pin pitch and small form factor unsuitable for breadboards or hand soldering without specialized equipment. A breakout board brings standard 0.1 inch headers and larger pads, enabling quick prototyping of LDO regulators and other small outline devices without rework risk or microscope-level soldering.
