Design a Custom BoardThe ACS71240 is an integrated Hall-effect current sensor for AC/DC current measurement up to 50A in automotive and industrial applications. It features differential sensing for rejection of external magnetic fields, integrated overcurrent detection with 1.5µs response time, and chopper-stabilized amplification for high accuracy across temperature. The device operates at 3.3V or 5V single supply with a 120kHz bandwidth analog output and low conductor resistance of 1.2mΩ in SOIC-8 package.
An 8-pin SOIC with 1.27mm pitch is too fine for breadboards and hand-soldering without a microscope. A breakout board routes these pins to standard 0.1" headers, enabling rapid prototyping and reliable connections for op-amps, transceivers, and small power MOSFETs without requiring reflow equipment.
