The ZXCT1009FTA is a high-side current sense monitor that measures load current without disrupting ground planes. It converts voltage across a shunt resistor into proportional output current, scaled by an external resistor to ground-referenced voltage. With 2.5V to 20V supply range, 4µA quiescent current, and 1% accuracy, it suits battery chargers, DC motor control, and power management applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-23's tiny 0.95mm pin pitch and compact form factor make hand-soldering tedious and prone to bridging errors. A breakout board breaks out the three pins to standard 0.1" spacing for breadboard prototyping, eliminating the need for specialized soldering equipment and enabling fast circuit iteration with transistors, diodes, and small-signal components.
