The TPS631000 is a constant-frequency peak current mode buck-boost converter with 1.6V to 5.5V input and 1.2V to 5.3V adjustable output. It delivers 1.5A typical output current and automatically transitions between boost, buck, and buck-boost modes with seamless 20mV ripple. Ideal for system pre-regulation, point-of-load conversion, and sensor power in space-constrained applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-583-8 packages are extremely difficult to hand-solder due to their 0.5mm pin pitch and small form factor. A breakout board brings these 8 pins to standard 0.1" spacing, making prototyping with power management ICs like synchronous buck converters and power multiplexers feasible without specialized equipment.
