Programmable precision shunt regulator with 2.495V reference voltage and ±1% tolerance. Provides output voltage adjustment to 40V using external resistors, with low 0.2Ω dynamic impedance and 100-150mA cathode current range. Commonly used as Zener replacement, series/shunt regulator, and voltage monitor in PWM converters and current limiting circuits.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-23's tiny 0.95mm pin pitch and compact form factor make hand-soldering tedious and prone to bridging errors. A breakout board breaks out the three pins to standard 0.1" spacing for breadboard prototyping, eliminating the need for specialized soldering equipment and enabling fast circuit iteration with transistors, diodes, and small-signal components.
