The SPX1117M3-L is an adjustable low-dropout positive voltage regulator delivering 800mA continuous output current with only 1.1V dropout at full load. Featuring low quiescent current and stable operation with 2.2µF ceramic output capacitor, it is well-suited for battery-powered and portable computing applications. Includes integrated overcurrent and thermal protection in a compact SOT-223 surface-mount package.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-223 three-pin regulators and transistors are difficult to hand-solder due to tight 1.5mm pitch and heat-sinking requirements. A breakout board brings standard 0.1" header spacing, eliminating soldering challenges and enabling immediate breadboard prototyping without rework or micro-soldering tools.
