Each of six independent buffers can sink 30mA with output saturation voltage under 0.4V, making it ideal for driving LEDs, relays, and other high-current loads. LS-series speed and TTL-compatible input thresholds support standard digital interfacing.

Why does this need a breakout?
Manual soldering of 1.27mm pitch SOIC-14 leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board eliminates this with pre-soldered pads and convenient 0.1-inch headers for breadboard prototyping. Ideal for developing capacitive touch sensor applications or other logic circuits without the fine-pitch assembly hassle.
