Design a Custom Board16-bit GPIO expander with I2C/SMBus interface for adding parallel I/O ports to microcontroller systems. Operates from 1.65V to 5.5V, supports up to four devices on same bus via address pins, and features open-drain interrupt output with 25mA sink capability for LED driving. Includes configurable input polarity, reset pin, and low standby current consumption.
Hand-soldering 0.65mm pitch traces is difficult without proper equipment; a breakout board with standard 0.1in header spacing lets you breadboard-prototype and test these compact devices easily. Commonly used for I2C/SMBus I/O expanders and mixed-signal microcontrollers, this breakout eliminates fine-pitch soldering and allows rapid iteration during development.
