Level-translating I2C-bus/SMBus repeater enabling low-voltage processors to interface with standard I2C devices. Provides bidirectional buffering on SDA and SCL lines with voltage translation from 1.35V–VCC(B)−1.0V on Port A to 3.0V–5.5V on Port B. Supports Standard and Fast-mode I2C with lock-up-free operation and integrated pull-up resistors on the low-voltage side.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 0.65mm pitch and tiny 3×3mm form factor make hand soldering challenging and impractical for breadboard prototyping. A breakout board converts this compact SMD package into a standard header layout, enabling reliable connections and rapid iteration without specialized soldering equipment or rework risk.
