Low-dropout positive voltage regulator delivering over 1.0 A output current with 1.2 V maximum dropout at 800 mA. Available in adjustable (1.25 V to 18.8 V) or fixed output versions (1.5 V to 12 V) with ±1.0% accuracy. Features integrated current limiting, thermal shutdown, and operates to 20 V input.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-223 three-pin regulators and transistors are difficult to hand-solder due to tight 1.5mm pitch and heat-sinking requirements. A breakout board brings standard 0.1" header spacing, eliminating soldering challenges and enabling immediate breadboard prototyping without rework or micro-soldering tools.
