6-axis inertial measurement unit combining 3-axis accelerometer (±2 to ±16g) and 3-axis gyroscope (±125 to ±2000 dps) in a compact 2.5×3 mm LGA package. Operates at 0.55 mA in high-performance mode with integrated features including 9 KB FIFO, finite state machine, pedometer, gesture detection, and temperature sensor. Supports SPI, I²C, and MIPI I3C interfaces for motion tracking, navigation, camera stabilization, and IoT applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
This 3x5mm LGA-14 package requires reflow soldering and features 0.8mm pitch pads underneath the component, making it impossible to breadboard directly or hand-solder reliably. A breakout board exposes all 14 pins to standard 2.54mm headers, enabling prototyping with I2C/SPI accelerometer and magnetometer modules while eliminating the need for surface-mount assembly skills.
