Requires only two external resistors to set output voltage and features internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe-area compensation for robust operation. Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-223 three-pin regulators and transistors are difficult to hand-solder due to tight 1.5mm pitch and heat-sinking requirements. A breakout board brings standard 0.1" header spacing, eliminating soldering challenges and enabling immediate breadboard prototyping without rework or micro-soldering tools.
