The HIP4082 is a medium-voltage H-bridge gate driver IC designed to independently drive four N-channel MOSFETs in half-bridge or full-bridge configurations. Operating at up to 80V with 1.25A peak output current and programmable dead times from 0.1 to 4.5 microseconds, it supports switching frequencies to 200kHz. Ideal for PWM motor control, UPS systems, and power supply applications where cost and size optimization are critical.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pin pitch on this 16-pin package makes hand-soldering impractical and breadboard mounting impossible. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 2.54mm spacing, enabling quick prototyping of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers, ADCs, and line drivers without requiring surface-mount soldering skills or PCB fabrication.
