Operates from 2.0V to 6.0V with CMOS low power consumption, high noise immunity, and integrated ESD protection exceeding 2000V HBM.

Why does this need a breakout?
Hand-soldering 0.65mm pitch leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board with standard 0.1" headers lets you prototype I/O expanders and logic gates on breadboards without a reflow oven. The compact SSOP package also becomes DIP-friendly, eliminating jumper spaghetti and reducing assembly mistakes during development cycles.
