The PCA9634 is an I2C-controlled 8-bit LED driver for RGBA color mixing applications. Each of 8 outputs features independent PWM control at 97 kHz with 256 brightness steps, plus a group PWM controller (24 Hz to 190 Hz) for synchronized dimming/blinking. Supports open-drain or totem-pole output modes with 25 mA sink capability at 2.3V to 5.5V supply. Ideal for multi-LED displays, addressable lighting, and color-mixing systems.

Why does this need a breakout?
Hand-soldering 0.65mm pitch leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board with standard 0.1" headers lets you prototype I/O expanders and logic gates on breadboards without a reflow oven. The compact SSOP package also becomes DIP-friendly, eliminating jumper spaghetti and reducing assembly mistakes during development cycles.
