ATtiny87 is a low-power AVR 8-bit RISC microcontroller with 8KB flash, 512B EEPROM, and 512B SRAM in a 20-TSSOP package. Features integrated LIN 2.1/1.3 controller, UART, dual timers with PWM, 10-bit ADC with differential channels, and SPI interface. Operates from 1.8–5.5V at speeds up to 16MHz, ideal for automotive LIN bus applications and low-power embedded systems.

Why does this need a breakout?
Hand-soldering 0.65mm pitch leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board with standard 0.1" headers lets you prototype I/O expanders and logic gates on breadboards without a reflow oven. The compact SSOP package also becomes DIP-friendly, eliminating jumper spaghetti and reducing assembly mistakes during development cycles.
