The 74HCT4066 is a quad single-pole single-throw analog switch IC with four independent switches. Each switch has two I/O terminals and an active-HIGH enable input, featuring low ON resistance (50Ω typical at 4.5V). It accepts TTL-level control inputs and includes ESD protection. Commonly used for audio/video signal routing, multiplexing, and analog circuit control applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
Manual soldering of 1.27mm pitch SOIC-14 leads is tedious and error-prone; a breakout board eliminates this with pre-soldered pads and convenient 0.1-inch headers for breadboard prototyping. Ideal for developing capacitive touch sensor applications or other logic circuits without the fine-pitch assembly hassle.
