8-bit addressable latch with four operational modes: addressable latch, memory, 3-to-8 decoder/demultiplexer, and reset. Selectively latches data on the D input into one of eight storage elements via 3-bit address inputs (A0-A2). Operates from 2.0V to 6.0V with TTL-compatible inputs (74HCT259) and extensive ESD protection. Commonly used for serial-to-parallel conversion and output demultiplexing applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 0.65mm pitch makes hand soldering difficult and error-prone; a breakout board lets you solder standard headers instead.
