The LTC4359 is a positive high-voltage ideal diode controller that drives an external N-channel MOSFET to replace a power Schottky diode, reducing power dissipation and heat. It operates from 4V to 80V with reverse input protection to –40V, features 9µA shutdown current, and provides smooth current delivery without oscillation across redundant supplies. Ideal for automotive battery protection, telecom infrastructure, and computer systems requiring efficient power ORing.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 0.65mm pitch and tiny 3×3mm form factor make hand soldering challenging and impractical for breadboard prototyping. A breakout board converts this compact SMD package into a standard header layout, enabling reliable connections and rapid iteration without specialized soldering equipment or rework risk.
