The 74HCT366 is a hex inverting buffer/line driver with individual 3-state output control via output enable inputs. Each of six inverting buffers can be independently disabled to high impedance, enabling bus-sharing and multiplexing applications. TTL-compatible inputs with 4.5V–5.5V supply range make it suitable for legacy system integration and industrial control circuits.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pin pitch on this 16-pin package makes hand-soldering impractical and breadboard mounting impossible. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 2.54mm spacing, enabling quick prototyping of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers, ADCs, and line drivers without requiring surface-mount soldering skills or PCB fabrication.
