Features low quiescent current (1µA typical), 250mV dropout at 100mA, and ±2% output accuracy. Includes current limiting and short-circuit protection; compatible with ceramic capacitors for use in portable electronics, cameras, and power supply applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
SOT-23's tiny 0.95mm pin pitch and compact form factor make hand-soldering tedious and prone to bridging errors. A breakout board breaks out the three pins to standard 0.1" spacing for breadboard prototyping, eliminating the need for specialized soldering equipment and enabling fast circuit iteration with transistors, diodes, and small-signal components.
