Why does this need a breakout?
This tiny 3-pin package is difficult to hand-solder and has 1.27mm pitch spacing incompatible with breadboards. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 0.1" spacing and larger pads, enabling reliable prototyping of small-signal transistors and diodes without rework or magnification.
