The CAT24C32 is a 32-kilobit serial EEPROM organized as 4096 x 8 bits, communicating via I2C interface at up to 1 MHz (Fast-Plus mode). It features a 32-byte page write buffer, hardware write protection, and supports 1.7V to 5.5V supply voltage. With 1 million program/erase cycles and 100-year data retention, it suits general-purpose embedded system memory applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
An 8-pin SOIC with 1.27mm pitch is too fine for breadboards and hand-soldering without a microscope. A breakout board routes these pins to standard 0.1" headers, enabling rapid prototyping and reliable connections for op-amps, transceivers, and small power MOSFETs without requiring reflow equipment.
