Supports BCD decade or bi-quinary configurations with divide ratios of 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, or 100. TTL-compatible inputs with asynchronous master reset; operates 4.5V to 5.5V. Ideal for frequency division and counting applications.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pin pitch on this 16-pin package makes hand-soldering impractical and breadboard mounting impossible. A breakout board brings the pins to standard 2.54mm spacing, enabling quick prototyping of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers, ADCs, and line drivers without requiring surface-mount soldering skills or PCB fabrication.
